The Sli Good-Bye

Dear Friends and Fans, there is no easy way to say what I have to say. On Tuesday May 11th, Slidell was struck and killed (instantly) by a car. I never dreamed this would happen to him and I am in a state of grief and disbelief. I’m sorry to shock you with this dreadful news.

I am thankful Sli had a great life with all the freedom and comforts he desired. His photographs and video are a testament to the wonder and adventure that filled his days. I am thankful he was such a friendly cat who connected with so many people, spreading his love all around. He brought a smile to my face each and every time I looked at him, I am forever grateful to have been his person.

I’ve put together the following slideshow in keeping with his famousness, thanks for being fans of the Sli Photographer and for adoring Slidell right along with me. ~ Gigi

The Sli Eye

Todays opening was a giant success with a rolling crowd and lots of SOLD stickers going on the prints! I talked with wonderful people all day and together we marveled at Slidell's view of the world. Sli was a good sport and tolerated the noise fairly well. He opted for his cat carrier most of the time but managed to handle a few chin scratches from his fans. Below you will see HIS experience at the gallery and then a few other photos that were taken before the day got away from us. The show continues on Saturdays and Sundays (10 - 4) for the rest of April. Hopefully we'll sell every print and raise a bunch more money for PAWS. Many thanks to our gracious host at the Manayunk Art Gallery and kudos to their contributing member's art work!

Baby it's cold out there...

Thats what I tell my animals when they stare out the window wondering why they are stuck inside. The rabbits have been in for days and since they are not bonded pairs, they each have their turn hopping around the house. Slidell and my other cats enjoy this, they find the bunnies interesting so I put the camera on and here's what I got...

I hope you and all of your animals are keeping warm too!

Snow Day

With heavy snow falling and all 7 animals inside, I decided to put the camera on Slidell. He wore it for awhile and then he went back to bed so I tried it on a bunny...hmmm, hopping and chewing don't go so well with photography. See for yourself.
Here Slidell is watching Bama walk across the ramp (that leads from their cat door) heading up the basement steps

Annual Trip to the Vet

Slidell wore the camera for our trip to the vet today. I was excited to get a glimpse of his point of view during the car ride, the exam and of the veterinarian but, camera only took a few photos...it tends to shut down when the lighting is too dark or too light. Here are the few cool ones he took from inside his carrier.

p.s. all 3 cats got a clean bill of health!

Back to Sli

Slidell is kind enough to keep me company whenever I have to shovel snow. Here are some of the photos he took one cold winter morning last month...

he is under my car watching me clear off the neighbor's cars

I must have walked by him 20 times as I shoveled the driveway

he has been spending a lot of time on this table, between my arms while I work at my computer - he is about to jump up - his whiskers on the left

here he is headed for the windowsill - another favorite spot on cold days
